We are part of a enlarged Tour this year, in the company of other host courses including St, Andrews, The Renaissance Club, Carnoustie, Blairgowrie and Royal Dornoch. Our own Member Conor O’Neil has entered as part of a full field of 72 + professionals, creating the largest prize fund of the Tour.
The Competition will be played over 36 holes, with the course remaining closed to Members on the first day, however will be open from 13.30 on the second day thus enabling Members to play the same course and if of interest to submit a card over what will effectively be the Blue course. In addition, the course will be closed early on Monday 17 May, with a last tee time of 12.30 to enable the Course Manager and his staff to prepare the course.
One of the highlights from last year was the support given by Members whereby a Member walked with each game raking bunkers ensuring that they were in good shape for the game following. This was very much appreciated by the professionals and it is intended to recruit volunteer Members again this year, ideally seeking 24/25 for both days.
Members interested in assisting in this way and contributing to the Competition are asked to email Kirsty on firstname.lastname@example.org stating which day or both days would be of interest. The volunteers last year witnessed a different level of play around our course.
