Fellow Members,

New Club Captain – Mr Scott C. McMaster

I would like to thank the members for granting me this opportunity to represent them as their Captain of this great Club for the year to come, and I do understand that I am only in this role to represent and to carry out the wishes of the membership as a whole, obviously there are many, many differing views but I do hope to make myself as available and approachable as possible to catch up with and listen to as many members as I can.

My main goals this year are to progress with the major projects which have recently been ratified at the SGM and to continue our path to have a firm and transparent management structure, allowing further member involvement. We do have a strong pool of worthy volunteers and member participation will be paramount with the subcommittees and beyond. We hope to have more involvement by members to gain a better understanding  of the club’s workings.

I want our club to be fully inclusive allowing all members the same opportunities for involvement at all levels.

With the new structure now in place, I hope this will give many more members the opportunity to get involved in the running of the club. Fortunately the recent club survey has identified a number of members with the appetite to get involved and my Council Members will be filling up their sub committees in the very near future. This will allow fresh ideas and thought back into the club. I am keen to speak to as many of you as possible. I am sure if we all work together in a positive manner, the club will move forwards to allow Pollok to be the best it can be.

I am going into my year with real positivity and excitement which I feel is essential and this will be a prerequisite for everyone that serves on the council, I really do want to enjoy my year in office. With Andy out on the Course and Andrew upstairs pulling the strings, I do feel we have the team to drive Pollok forwards to the next level. I am also delighted to have the support of David Doig as my Vice Captain and Paul Johnston as my Vice Captain Designate.

However, I am not completely naive and I am well aware that there will be some ups and down but I can assure you that I will give it my best shot and will hopefully not let any of you down.

Thank you for your support and here is to a great year ahead.

Burns Supper – Friday 21st January 2022 – Keep the Date

I would also like to advise that next years Burns Supper has been confirmed as Friday 21st January 2022 and I am really excited with the line up we have for you, more to follow. I would like to extend the invite to the Burns Supper to Members and their Guests.

Kinds Regards,

Scott McMaster
