Covid Status 19th July 2021

Based on the recent update from the Scottish Government and advice from Scottish Golf, a number of changes will be made to the way we operate both on the Course and in the Clubhouse effective from first thing on Monday 19th July 2021.

These are listed below for your information.

Course

  • Flagsticks can be lifted for putting purposes with all hole infills removed. This is at the Member’s discretion.
  • Rakes will be available in all of the bunkers and bunkers should be raked after playing a shot if possible. However, should any Member not wish to handle a rake then this is acceptable. And as a consequence, the preferred lies Local Rule (the 6-inch rule) will continue to apply for all golfers. New rakes will be available in the near future.
  • Ball washers will be available on the course.
  • The hydraulic shoe-cleaner will be available following completion of its repair.

Clubhouse

  • Social distancing will be 1 metre and Members can sit 4 to a table, more if a family group.
  • Service at the Bar will not be available. Table service will continue.
  • Face masks will still be required in the clubhouse until seated in the lounges or using the changing rooms.
  • The changing rooms will be fully functional meaning that towels and showers will be available from Tuesday 20th July when a caddiemaster will be in attendance. Consequently, from Tuesday 20th July:

Ø  There will be no changing of shoes in the carpark.

Ø  Access to the Jamieson Lounge after golf will require a change of clothing.

Ø  Used shower towels should be disposed of as usual.

Ø  Individual hand towels will be available in the toilet area, which should be placed in the used towel  bin after use. The paper towel dispensers will remain and used paper towels should be placed in the bins provided.

  • Members are asked to continue to use the hand sanitisers until further notice.
  • Track and trace will continue and Members are encouraged to comply.

David Doig, our Vice-Captain Designate, has agreed to take up the role of Covid Officer and he has our thanks for this.

In effect, we will be returning to a semblance of normality and consequently our Rules of Dress Code and Etiquette will apply. A copy of these is attached for the avoidance of doubt. Members who bring guests to the Club are responsible for ensuring that their guests comply with these rules.

We continue to expect Members to show courtesy and good manners among each other and to our staff, all of whom are now employees of the Club. There have been a small number of instances recently when Member behaviour has fallen short of our mutual expectations and any such incidents should be reported to me.
