What our Members Say

As a relatively young member what I enjoy about Pollok is the subtle challenges it poses. You have to think your way round. Also, being close to the city centre it is easy to grab a bite to eat in the clubhouse with my pals and fit in a quick round after work. It is normally a case of just walking on to the first tee. I'd hate to have to book a time.

I enjoy playing with my friends in the regular bounce games on Tuesdays and Thursday morning. If you turn up you get a game. If you've something else on you are not letting anyone down by not showing up. For me, its greens are its best feature. They are unsurpassed for a woodlands course.

Playing off Plus One means that I have to concentrate all the way round. Pollok, being flat, looks deceptively easy. But if you drop your guard it can jump up and bite you where it hurts most - in your score. This course is a good challenge for golfers of all abilities.

I have been a member for 36 years. Over that time I am pleased to say that standards of etiquette, courtesy have been maintained in an era where they are all too rare. Pollok combines the best traditions of golf with an informality and welcome that is commented on wherever I go.
